North and South (North and South Trilogy #1)
I thought it was really good. It was obviously written by a man and a lot more time was spent on history and action and not as much on character relationships but that would be my only criticism. On the other hand, Orry and George had a wonderful friendship and it was nice that this felt like the focal part of the story.
