Seth... Yep, it pretty much starts there. This character, in one book, has shot up to being to one of my favorite male characters in a book. He was so unique and realistic, you just can't help but fall seriously in love with him. He's awkward, shy, bumbling, and amazing. His emails, and one liners, they were that much better because they came out of this completely unassuming man. This is the first male hero that is not an alpha that I've ever fallen hard for. Amazing.Add to that that Georgina is completely believable and honest. She wasn't at all what I was expecting when I picked up this series. Georgina Kincaid was what author Darynda Jones was going for when she created Charley Davidson of First Grave on the Right. She was funny and endearing in all the right places, whereas Charley's jokes felt out of place and too frequent to be taken seriously. During most of it I laughed, but in the end I was so sad for her. I just really hope that in the end of this crazy series she gets a chance at life and everything that she aches for.Bring Georgina and Seth together and you have magic. The same magic I felt with Mac and Barrons, or Mary & Rhage. Every moment they were together I was glued to the pages with a sloppy smile on my face. They gave me butterflies and made it so hard to breathe. The end, the battle, the sacrifice, the resolution...-To Thetis, Long overdue, I know, but very often the things we most desire come only after much patience and struggle. That is a human truth, I think. Even Peleus knew that.Seth-"Do you know the rest?"Doug asked me expectantly."What? The Achilles was a dysfunctional psychopath? Yeah I know that.""Well, yeah, everyone knows that. I mean the really cool part. About Thetis and Peleus." I shook my head, and he continued, professor-like, "Thetis was a sea nymph, and Peleus was a mortal who loved her. Only, when he went to woo her, she was a real bitch about it.""How so?""She was a shape-shifter."I nearly dropped the book. "What?"Doug nodded. "He approached her, and she turned into all sorts of shit to scare him off - wild animals, forces of natures, monsters, whatever.""What... what'd he do?""He held on. Grabbed her and wouldn't let go through all of those terrible transformations. No matter what she turned into, he just held on."Damn... that's all I can say. Damn.Last note before I sign off. Carter; biggest and best surprise in the whole book. I want one of him.
