Woman Reading

I'm wavering between a 3.5 and 4 stars. It's hard for me to give typical Historical Romance novels more then 3 stars, because I feel like they are all the same. And this one wasn't cut with a different cookie cutter, so I want to immediately lean to the lower half. But this book made me laugh, and it even brought a lump to my throat, which makes me want to give it more. I honestly just can't make up my mind!

I liked Mairin. Did she do stupid things occasionally, absolutely! But I've come to expect this in this genre. She was also protective and fun. I liked Ewan too. He was brute, but I've also come to expect this.

So much of this book was predictable, but the awesome thing is that I still really enjoyed reading it. Loads of fun!
